Two firefighters were killed and at least 18 people were taken to area hospitals as Boston firefighters battled a nine-alarm fire in the city's Back Bay neighborhood Wednesday.
The fire extended up from the basement of the four-story brick brownstone building, according to New England Cable News.

At least three firefighters were among those taken to the hospital, according to The Associated Press.
A Red Cross team was also at the site of the blaze.
The Boston Transportation Department told drivers to avoid the Back Bay during their evening commute.
